Destinations: Thimphu ➝ Punakha ➝ Paro

DAY 1: Arrival in Phuentsholing

  • Pick-up from Phuentsholing border gate.
  • Assist with permit processing.
  • Check-in at hotel and rest.
  • Evening stroll around the town.

Overnight: Phuentsholing

DAY 2: Phuentsholing → Thimphu (5–6 hrs)

  • Scenic drive through the mountains.
  • En-route stop at Kharbandi Gompa.
  • Arrive in Thimphu and check-in.

Evening:

  • Walk around Clock Tower Square and local market.

Overnight: Thimphu

DAY 3: Thimphu Local Sightseeing

  • National Memorial Chorten
  • Buddha Dordenma (Giant Buddha)
  • Takin Reserve – national animal of Bhutan
  • Simply Bhutan Museum
  • Textile Museum
  • Tashichho Dzong (evening view)

Overnight: Thimphu

DAY 4: Thimphu → Punakha (2.5 hrs)

  • Drive over Dochula Pass (3,100m) – 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong – Bhutan’s most beautiful fortress.
  • Walk to Suspension Bridge – one of the longest in Bhutan.

Overnight: Punakha

DAY 5: Punakha Excursion

  • Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) – gentle village hike.
  • Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten – short hike with scenic valley view.
  • Free evening to relax in Punakha valley.

Overnight: Punakha

DAY 6: Punakha → Paro (4 hrs)

  • Drive to Paro via scenic countryside.
  • Visit Tamchoe Iron Bridge en-route.
  • Explore Paro Town on arrival.

DAY 7: Paro Sightseeing

  • Paro Dzong & National Museum
  • Kichu Lhakhang – one of the oldest temples in Bhutan
  • Drukgyel Dzong (restored ruins)
  • Evening: local handicraft & souvenir market.

DAY 8: Paro – Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Hike

  • Full-day hike to Taktsang Monastery (4–6 hours round trip).
  • Optional traditional hot stone bath in the evening.

Overnight: Paro

DAY 9: Paro → Phuentsholing Departure (5–6 hrs)

  • Drive back to Phuentsholing.
  • Drop at hotel/border gate for exit formalities.
